Individuals of both sexes of Sauromalus obesus tumidus from two locations in southern Arizona were autopsied each month during their active period from May 1970 through August 1973, and the breeding cycle was determined. Adult testis weights changed markedly during the year, generally reaching maximum size in June. Males were found as potential breeders from April through July. Seasonal changes in the histological morphology of the testes were observed. A series of stages indicating these changes in spermatogenic activity is described. Females contained oviducal eggs from May through July. Copulation was observed during May and June. Oviposition occurred from July through August. Eggs required an average of 85 days for incubation. The first hatchlings appeared during late August.
